We are stone
lossnaturetimeloveidentity
We are stone
Frozen
Iced souls
Hardened steel
Carbonised
Diamond cut
Forged into daggers
Stiletto sharp
Tempered by degree
Too fine a point
Made without rancour
Anger is too hot
To hold
We are deadly cold
Veins so deeply blue
Flesh marbled
As hard as the nails
Used to fasten
Down the lid
Of the closed
Cold heart
We have nurtured
To protect
The soft golden core
Still crying
In its sleep
Is it safe
To keep it hidden
So deeply buried
When it might yet be
Transmuted
From gold
Into cold hard stone
