We lay

naturecitytimelovemortality

We lay

Supine

Fingertips touching

Gazed upon

Cloud castles

Walked together

Along wispy battlements

Played I-spy

As unicorns jousted

And valleys

Hidden for a hundred years

Opened

Uncovering a window

In the sky

We danced in the rain

Without umbrellas

Gene would have laughed

We were easy

To please

Eager to remain

Tickled by grass

Embraced by sun

Innocent days passed

Treading the same path

Tiptoeing carefully

Hoping

To catch the squirrel

Talking to the Magpie

Laughed like drains

Without hindrance

And little constraint

The two of us

As one.
