We sat, side by side

lossnaturemusictimelove

We sat, side by side

Your hand resting on mine

You sipped a cocktail

Watching the sun

As it fell

Bleeding into the sea

Hot flames doused by candlelight

You nibbled my ear

We laughed through the night

Counting the stars

As they shone

Burning holes in the sky

Opening one by one

There was a blink

A meteor flared and was gone

As it fell

Bringing a wish

Home to me

If I could sing you

A lullaby

It would be divine

A song of love

In thrall to a harmony

Its melody entwined

In a cradle of moonbeams

Afloat, you and me

On an old sailing boat

Adrift

On an indigo sea.
