What do you see

lossnaturemusicpoliticstimelove

What do you see

When I see the dawning

Fingers of sunlight

Melting in shadows

The night sky above me

Becoming a window

The first bird is calling

A welcome to morning

The wind in the treetops

Is whispering love songs

The first hint of summer

In pink blossom falling

The warmth of a parting

In young lovers kissing

What do you see

When something is missing

The space at a table

Where no one is sitting

The tears after midnight

When no one is watching

A bottle of whisky

An old oaken table

A light in a stable

A noose gently swaying

An old soldier praying

New babies crying

As people are dying

Timely reminders

To unite, not divide us

What do you see

When no one is heeding

The words of a warning

What can you teach

When no one is learning

What do you see

When no one is looking

What do you see

Do you see me

As I see you.
