What of wealth?

losspoliticsmemorytimelovesolitude

What of wealth?

The trappings of power,

The means to make a difference.

A priceless gift

Freely given,

Brief moments in time

Small treasures

Never easily measured

Until they have gone.

The space they leave

Un-bridgeable,

Without love.

What of wealth

To the lonely broken heart,

Breaking bread

With a ready meal.

Sharing a word

With a listening wall,

Facing an empty chair,

Seeing a person

Who once sat there.

What of wealth

Without health.
