Where do we begin

naturetimelovemortality

Where do we begin

When loose ends fray

In a blur of impressions

Rain melts into soft skin

Melding, one into another

Drizzled in perspiration

Windows buckle under refraction

So many longing looks.

Admiration

Is a drug

What does it say

About me?

The clouds carry us

So easily in their arms

Soft and round on the outside

Upside down

We dance on mountain tops

Roll in clover

Where the grass is greener

Plucking fresh fruit

From low-hanging branches

Before they fall

Watching as rainbows form

Waiting, as meaning is discovered

In distraction

Dusting it with sugar

To sweeten its taste.

There is too much bitterness

In this world

To leave it to others.

The romance of love

Is as slippery

As a soapy floor

In a Turkish Bath

But worth trying to hold on to,

Catching your breath

Even as you fall,

Divinity is in the trying.
