Who will wake me
naturememoryloveidentitymortality
Who will wake me
In the morning
Call me from a deep sleep
Pull me back
From the edge of darkness
Into waking
Bury my dreams
In kisses
Ease the pain
Of confusion
At the dissonance
Of bright light
Splitting blind
Insults
Through tightly
Closed lids
As the radio plays
Good morning sunshine
Encourage my soul
As it lies weeping
Ready for departure
Massage away
The remains of
Yesterday
Sharpen dulled senses
Release the tension
Stored in forgotten corners
Bring a cup
Of sweetness
To parched lips
Listen to silent fears
Whisper
I love you
Into the small space
Between lovers
Who will wake me
To the glory
Of morning
Before the light
Blows out.
