Cast adrift

lossnatureidentitymortalitysolitude

Cast adrift

Too easily lost

Left behind to fend alone

In a backwater

Out of sight

Too many reasons left

To cry

Too many souls

Left to die

Broken pieces

Ill Fitting

The bigger picture

A complex puzzle

Rarely solved

With hindsight

An easy solution

Conscientious objectors

In search of absolution

Demand a prayer

From a soothsayer

A coin thrown

In the fountain

Wish me good luck

Lor’ luv a duck

Speak in tongues

If you will

Nobody listens

To the down and out

Cast your net wide

See what you find

In the shallows

String them up

Find a hangman

To service the gallows

The thief

And the pauper

One and the same

Take my hand

We can all be

A saviour

By any other name.
