Changeable as the weather is what you are.

politicstimemortality

Changeable as the weather is what you are.

Jumping in and out of things

Just as quickly as saying yes and no

In the same sentence.

Making a decision and changing it

Before digesting the consequences

Of action versus inaction.

Moving forward

With most of your weight

Balanced on the back foot.

Standing in a room full of people

Feeling awkward, making an effort

They seem not to see.

Laughing and joking with strangers

Whilst looking over shoulders

For an escape route to the door.

Happy to play but afraid to dance.

You want for nothing, yet ask for more,

or less.

It depends on the moment,

When repeatedly,

But not like clockwork,

You would never be quite so precise,

You get too close and then withdraw,

Blow hot and cold,

Always certain but never sure,

Of whom you might be,

Or what you want.

Nobody knows, not even you,

How it will be

for you tomorrow.

We all must wait

For it to come and hope we

Are still here

To see

If what we hope, will be...

Will be.
