Decisions

Decisions

Demand resolution

This might be a good thing

Or not.

Oft times,

It’s not easy to tell the difference.

Everything happens at once

The sea rises

Regardless of philosophy

The sky is full of clouds

As thick as the vomit

Filling the back seat

Of the cab home

After a night

Of hard drinking.

Debauchery

Always happens

To somebody else

Perhaps it’s just as well.

A veil of dark light

Shadows my progress

It hangs so low

I have to duck

Walk

To keep a clear head

Perhaps there are handholds

I could swing from

To fly through the air.

Tarzan meets King Kong

To bring down the Empire State

Of course, that would make me

An enemy

What is god doing

When children die?

I see no collateral

In the burning.

There is no provision

In my soft shoe

For an awkward shuffle

Of cue cards.

Prod me with a sharp stick

Keep me honest

Don’t allow my eyes to drop

To your level

It is too easy

To avoid the consequence

Of your actions

When you choose

To play

The righteous card.
