Drift into the infinite
naturemusic
Drift into the infinite
Float across the sea
Avoiding Charon
Who waits for me
In the shallows
Dark waters stir the pot
Of its refraction
Ripple its effect
Across the surface
I am a bier, burning
In a retreating moon’s
Reflected light
Its waxen face
Slowly turning
From the sight
Of so many tears
An earthy weep
In lieu of destiny
Hot dust rising
Will be
Carried in a whisper
Transported on a Mistral
Masquerading as a trade wind
Into the furthest corners
Of the universe
Where a single grain
Will fall
And we will begin
Again.
