Drowned in the fog
lossnaturecitymemorytimelove
Drowned in the fog
Of Albion
Upon a sleepers bed
The one time fox
A sly old dog
Of shameless thought
Is transported
Deported as an alien
A timeless voyage
Before the dawn
Is wrestled from the arms
Of Morpheus
With its tail
Between its legs
In full flight
And barking frenzy
A bloodied rouge
Upon cheeks
That once were
Kissed with lipsticked lips
Before the bitter
Kick of amber
Took its toll
In the slippage
From the spotlight
Of a dusty stage
Where once a youthful
Soul did play
Too much is ghostly
In remembrance
Of a reality
Where paper clowns
Go in search of slapstick
Old wolves still hunt
In packs
Of sad repose
For the life of him
There is no doubt
In this dream
He was a person
Of vast renown
Until at last he woke
To find
His was a story
No one’s ever truly told
