Even now in sunlight
naturemusicmemoryidentitysolitude
Even now in sunlight
There is darkness
Hiding in every shadow
Though here, in this place
On a hillside
Overlooking the sea
Sitting by myself
I am not alone
A home can sing
With the vibrations
Of its occupants
Even in absence
There is life
In abundance
Only an arms length away
Even singularity
Is a concept
With a multitude of meanings
Can the future come undone
Is there no respite
From such progress
As I confess
Was never mine to make
Without assistance
Look into the distance
If you must
What might be seen
So very far away
Is all but visible
Closer to one’s own home
Than it seemed so yesterday
When all things
May have looked the same
But everything was
Immeasurably different
As it will be
Once again
Tomorrow.
