Heavy bruises are

lossnaturecitymemorytimemortality

Heavy bruises are

Carried on light winds

Unasked for surprises

So easily borne

Biting like horseflies

Invisible reasons

For avoidance

Of contact

With sharp edges

Barely registered

As a presence

Hiding in shadows

Thrown by upended mirrors

Afraid of a mood swing

In lieu of a time-lapse

Does nothing evolve

If it goes unseen

Sunspot activity

On thin skin

Changing the complexion

Daily

Nocturnal ramblings

In search

Of a memory

Holding on to a lost smile

In an empty frame

Wondering what

It was good for

Picture perfect

Faces fade

Even beneath closed lids
