How long is eternity

politicstimeidentitymortality

How long is eternity

When does it begin

To determine its own future

There is no impermanence

In existence

When nothing remains

Unchanging

There is little constancy

In revolution

Even truth is fleeting

A wall of indifference

Can still tumble

Worn down by the weight

Of its own struggle

Toward partiality

As every moment

Another pillar

Of modernity

Founders on the folly

Of its shallow foundation

Features and landscapes

Continue in evolution

Over time

Familiarity is more

Than recognition

It is a mark of respect

At the prospect

Of observation

As without the pattern

Of change

Witnessed

As a reflection

Of eternal passage

In your eyes

Nothing of substance

Will ever materialise
