Wear a disguise

losscitymusictimeloveidentity

Wear a disguise

Play a role

Hide what you feel

On the inside

From the curious

The merely interested

Not even the dangerous

Blood sucking rapacious

Greedy for tidbits

Idiot minded.

The mildly amused

By a pithy remark

A slurp of froth

And tittle tattle

Are difficult enough

To face for the introvert

With confidence a lost cause

Naked dreaming

Is not just the province

Of the lovelorn

A wish fulfilled

Is not always a request

For soft porn

Nor hard core

A fear of losing

The strength to hold on

Is as much a reason

For slipping away

Before the party

Has even started

Disconnection

Is not just a matter

Of manners

It is more than avoidance

It is the pain

Of exposure

When beneath the skin

The flesh is raw

Every welt freshly driven

By internal struggle

The guilt of survival

Reaps destruction

On the innocent

Self flagellation

Has no friends

No winners

In the end

Practice your smile

Wear it well

Suffer to be a tad

More sociable

There is more to engagement

Than touch

Stay connected

It is electricity

For the soul.
