As I walk this lonely shore
naturemusicmemorylovesolitude
As I walk this lonely shore
Waves rushing in
Oblivious to my ruminations
The roiling sea
Churning up the sand
Exposing the undertow
Do I wait for you
How long will be eternity
As the last sun falls
Below the far horizon
Will I see its like again
Do I chase beyond
Those rose-red clouds
Higher than the haze
Of windborne dust
Deflecting light to fuel
A romantic
Vision of nostalgia
Every shell could be
A bed for Aphrodite
Is this to be the way of it
A symbol of my love for you
The passion of our play
The rolling of the surf
A simple epithet
To mark the moment
Of an eternal union
No return for Shelley
On a rhymeless afternoon
Even as moonbeams fall
And the angels kiss the sea
I wait for you
To walk with me
For all eternity.
