I will miss her even more when I am alone.

I will miss her even more when I am alone.
I have no confidence
In politicians
To do the right thing
In big business
To care about
Ordinary people
In need of a fair deal
With their right
To live a good life
Free of the threat
Of poverty
Where a good health service
And care for the weak
Is a given
Not a burden
I have no confidence
In justice
When pharmaceutical
Companies hold the balance of power
In the health of a nation
Hold the world
To ransom over a cure
For disease
And wait
Until the price is right
Before they agree
To let it be
Even in wonder
The world is bleak
It defies expectation
Belies the disguise
Of self determination
I have no confidence
In its explanation
Or repatriation
Alone
I have no confidence
In me.
