If I follow

lossnaturemusicpoliticstimelove

If I follow

Will you wait

Stop awhile

Window shop

Catch a bus

Sit on the top deck

Look through windows

People in front rooms

In pyjamas

Eating bananas

Wearing night caps

Drinking gin

Looking out

As you look in

Arguing the toss

With their partners

Watch as hard rain

Falls down

Dirty pains

Like heavy water

Redrum is more than a horse

It is Murder

Written backwards

In condensation

With hot breath

And a dirty finger

Who would do such

A thing

If you want to stop

The bell will ring

Go by train

Clickety-clack

On a rickety track

So many bridges

To cross

Between now and then

You will find

All you lost

Linger for a time

Let a moment pass

There is purpose

To the rhythm

Of a good heart

It is hard to find

Try not to leave it

Too far behind

It will struggle

In the beating

Unless you wait

Beside the gate

Before it begins

To swing open

To a promise

Of surprise

And wait for me

On the morning side

Of closure
