In a monsoon summer

naturemusicpoliticstimelovemortality

In a monsoon summer

With the sun high

In a cobalt sky

After the storm

Has dissipated

Weakened leaves fall

There is a sadness

In the slow tumble

A frailty in their

Brittle fragility

Lacking the richness

Of autumn colours

There is no last kiss

Of surrender

Dried husks frozen

In full sun

Crumbling into dust

Under protest

Leaving a dirt brown stain

On a white marble

Cold stone

Facsimile of

Winter snow

How do I know

Angels will weep

For me

There are no tears

In heaven

Nothing is as it seems

Even a leaf

Is mourned

In its moment

Of passing

From one Plane tree

Unto the next.
