In the low down
lossnaturetimelove
In the low down
When the stillness
Of night is high
Deeply driven
By a cold wind
Beneath the shelter
Of an aging Oak
There is respite
Pressed hard against
The old wood
Finding renewed purpose
In the bounty
Of its grace
I will wait
For just a moment
To breathe in the
Pure night air
Gathering strength
Footprints in the snow
Will soon be gone
Crisscrossed by
Forest wildlife
There will be nothing
Left of the path
To lead the way
But I will find you
If I follow my heart
I will see the glow
Of the night light
In the window
It will guide me
Safely to your door
