April 30, 2026Poem
It has taken many years
politicstime
It has taken many years
To perfect so very little
Holding a cup
Just so
Adopting a pose
A casual study
Learned
As well as any other
I close my eyes
To enjoy the proximity
Of strangers
It highlights
An awareness of impermanence.
Nothing remains
Unchanged for long
People move
In and out of shot
Within a blink
Nothing is fixed
In place
Even lashes are shed.
When I open my eyes
I am a rabbit
Stuck in headlights
Waiting to be struck down
Cast to one side
Randomly
By the improbability
Of reality.
