It is what it is.

It is what it is.
The pitter patter of rainfall
A soothing blend of
Natural rhythms
The hiss of water
Adding
A relaxing ambient
Backdrop
To solid air
Heavy with migraine
Inducing humidity
A sheer wall
A perpendicular ocean
At high tide
With sorried, sodden birds
As bedraggled
Bathers
In wetsuits
Squawking in protest
At the desecration
Of spring cleaned nests
Washed away
In the deluge
The dry gulch
Overflowing,
A cascade of dirt
And half-drowned rats
Body surfing
On rotten wood,
Tumbling down toward
The sea
Its helter-skelter
Progress
A god’s eye view
From a sheltered balcony
Over a cup of tea
And a Garibaldi.
