An etched pen-and-ink illustration with a blue accent, evoking "Just a moment ago,".

Just a moment ago,

losstimelovemortality

Just a moment ago,

The child within

Was me.

What did he see?

To make him

What he has become.

A cheeky presence,

A sulking teen.

A promise,

Of what might have been.

The best and worst

Of me, in spades.

The reminder,

When an image fades,

Of the good things

I have seen,

And done.

The laughter,

Tears,

Tragedy and fun.

Never one,

Without the other.

The loss of a son,

Father, Mother.

Estranged from a brother.

Surviving,

Spirits reviving,

With the love

Of a good woman,

Giving me the belief,

That I can,

One day be the man,

I hoped to be.

When I was just a boy,

Full of joy,

Who ran wild and free,

With a pocket full

Of dreams.

A mind full of schemes,

And a lifetime

To play with.
