On waking
naturemusictimelove
On waking
Wrap your dreams
In rainbows
Reach for them
As they move further away
Hidden treasure
Is a secret never told
Written in the ice
On broken windows
Jack Frost
Melting in hot breath
Love hearts
Drawn in dewdrops
On grimy glass
Condensed on cobwebs
In the corner
Where the flies are caught
In the draught
As the north wind blows
Fairy dust
Is hard to come by
It flutters in the gleam
Of moonbeams
Spiralling up
To the dirty ceiling
Like smoke from
A spent candle
Coughing a funereal
Splutter
Collapsing slowly
On the nightstand
With every breath
The dream dies
Nipped between
Ice cold fingers
A last kiss
Is a sorry thing
To be left with
Lingering in shadows
As morning breaks.
