Similarity in difference.
Similarity in difference.
Do you see me?
I can see you
Or is my impression,
A constructed reflection.
Do we believe what we want
To believe,
Until truth is revealed
As something we
Had the chance to know,
But squirreled away,
Put our trust
In its unearthing
At some future date,
So long passed
We forgot to remember.
And as a wanton stranger
It broke down the
Paper thin walls,
Trashed the fruits
Of our perception,
Turned them inside out
Emptied them into the gutter,
To drain away,
Leaving only a residue
Of remembrance.
The sweet spot
That lay hidden
Between the ragged layers
Of self protection,
Which had it grown
May have led
To greater recognition
Of the yearning
To understand
Our difference,
As a similarity.
Seeing the other in you
Clearer,
Without artifice,
As an imperfect wonder,
May have been
The truth that saved
The best in our
Self reflected world.
