Stoke my fires

timeloveidentity

Stoke my fires

Let the embers burn

The hot cinders

Spitting their defiance

Soon it will be their turn

To die

Unless I am rekindled

Is that all we are

A solar flare

Carried in backdraft

A weight

Upon the conscience

What does it mean

To say I love you

When there is no one there

If you care at all

Stir me up

With more than

The promise of a kiss

Give me bliss

Fill my soul

With the flame

Of a burning bush

Bring me the magic

Of reignition

That I may bathe

In the heat

Of our connection

For all time
