The lifeline is at full stretch

naturecitymusicmemorytimelove

The lifeline is at full stretch

The exhilaration

Widening eyes

Narrowing blood vessels

Close to the skin

The solar plexus engorged

Adrenaline is rampant

The heart beats

Rapidly

With the swing

Helplessly

Waiting to be hauled

To safety

There is no net

Said the spider to the fly

Love is a precipice

Jump off

Trust in the harness

It is a lifesaver

A once in a lifetime

Experience

Chase it and see

It will never happen

In quite the same way

A momentary rush

Followed by the disappointment

Of a familiar ending

Love is an overdose

There is no antidote

Barely a cure

Never look for one

It can break you

Love is a mountain top

There is no better view

Hold on to it

Everything else is a downhill run

Soon over

A dry mouth

Wounded knee tremble

An inexplicable need

To drink Schnapps

Through a straw

And the urge

To howl at the moon.
