The smell of air

naturemusictimelove

The smell of air

Blowing in from the sea

Tasting of salt

The Cutty sark

A silk trail caravan

The song of a lovelorn

Whale

Filtered through

A happy medium

Bent out of shape

As its density changes

Teasing the senses

As easy as dry sand

Sifting through toes

On a lazy day

When the world

Can wait

The cry of a newborn

As its lungs inflate

Breathing

Is so easy to take for granted

At sunrise

With a secret smile

Over guilt-free coffee

When you know

How it feels

To be kissed

On the lips

By someone you love

For the first time

Be grateful

The feelings still linger

As a moment to savour

Touch them with a finger

Such intimacy

Are the gifts

Still held

In your heart

They may never

Happen again

But be thankful

They happened

At all.
