The world is not flat

naturetimemortality

The world is not flat

Every step is a battle

To defy gravity

There is always another hill

To climb

New horizons

To cross

Where ships disappear

Bow first

In a bid to corral

The moon

Before it falls into the sea

There is no easy passage

From the first step

To the last

The weight of history

Brings us down

The brightness

Of a searing sun

Can lower sights

Anchors

Need not

Hold us back

They give protection

From the worst

Of a storm

Until the tide turns

At first light

When even

The heaviest boats

Are bound to lift

A theory of displacement

Is simple proof

We will set sail

To find a

Bridge of rainbows

Into morning.
