There is no ferryman

lossnaturecityloveidentitymortality

There is no ferryman

To place coins

Upon dead eyes

No bribe will be paid

The cost is too high

Charon is not waiting

To carry me when I die

It is a foolish man

Who waits until it is over

Before he bargains

For his soul

If acceptance is the key

Unlock my heart

Let it be free

It will soar

Beyond the highest mountain

In a search

Of a beginning

There are no endings

It is plain to see

Who among you

Will still be with me

When we encounter Hades

A hotspot best avoided

Before we realise

There is no truth

Without debate

No destiny

For those who

Shrug off chance

Keep their lips sealed

Leave everything to fate

Oh what a wonder

To know

This is all elaboration

Questions are doubtful starters

But in the face

Of so much less than certain

Pay the fare

If it is not too late

I would wish it were true

If not for my sake

Then for you.
