There is nothing

natureloveidentitymortality

There is nothing

For you to see

Beneath the skin

By way of explanation

It is a wonder

There is any difference

In depth or designation

When, in all but name

We are one flesh

With everything

More or less the same

Except for blood type

A fine divergence

In microbiology

An elegant mix

Of chromosomes

To sugar the pot

But what do you see

In the blood and snot

Not a lot

How am I me

Not you

Where are my thoughts

And stored memories

The meaning I give

To this life

The transition

From inside to outside

Where is the seat

Of my soul

How heavy is my heart

On a sad day

If I am in two minds

Where are they

If I am a truth

Where is the way

Nothing binds me

To the bone

Perhaps I can fly

Leave this shell

This earthly hell

Astrally project

Escape from the inside

An existential domain

Too meaningless to scale

When it struggles

With its own

Definition of determination

How will I know

If I am here

Or there

Where I begin... end

If I am more

Or less.
