Walk with me

politicstime

Walk with me

While away the hours

Between the rise and fall

With a companion

Pass the time of day

Tarry over small things

Laugh at inconsequentials

Banter with humour

But never in jest

At someone else

When a wisecrack

Is less than playful

Do not be facetious

Or even overserious

It is a narrow path

Finely defined

With a course border

Roughly overgrown

A wild hedgerow

More beautiful

Than it needs be

If it only has one purpose

It is neither guide

Nor hinderance

Though it does delineate

A difference

That might exist

Between here and there

Unless it too

Whilst seeming to stand still

Is on a more

Circuitous journey

With a plethora of

Complex tasks to fulfil

On its own way

Toward full growth

A richly diverse company to keep

Perhaps we could

Benefit from

Understanding how

The bits and pieces of it

Come together

In such environmental harmony

We may

Progress a little

Whilst we learn

Walk with me

Perhaps it is in this process

Of becoming

We find a purpose

For our own

Inarticulate imaginings

In a shape more akin

To a growth in understanding

Than an expectation

Of success.
