When will it be over?

naturetimemortality

When will it be over?

The waiting

Anticipation of dread

Every fresh breath

A reminder

Of the one to come

Is there a time

When it matters not?

The meaning

Less than a reason

To exhale

Every moment stale

From too much exposure

To the familiarity

Of repetition

Will forgetting

Be a price we pay

To be released

From the drudgery

Or do we alter

Our perception

As the leaving begins

Do we make amends

Or seal a pact

Every time we choose

Life

When will choices

Cease

To be ours to make

Will we be ready

To step into the dark

Will the spark

We have within us fail

Or will it spur

Us on

Into the mystery

Of eternity.
