Bigotry.

loveidentitymortality

Bigotry.

How can love be

Given so freely

To the chosen ones.

That it grows

So well to blind you

To their weakness

And intolerance.

Your love

Nurtures and nourishes

Flourishes in darkness

Tends the sick

And dying

Gives succour to the weak

Protects the young

Lives are sacrificed

On its altar

So very often,

Freely given.

Even when those

Same people

Abuse your trust

Neglect their

Responsibility,

Abandon the true

Meaning of love,

Throw it back

Spit it out

Reduce it to rubble,

Poison its soul

Manipulate its passion,

Remain loved,

Often,

Unconditionally.

How can this be,

Can it be love

When good people

Are reviled

Defiled

Cast out

Even when they

Themselves

Do good things,

Are worshipful

And devout

But are not chosen

Do not belong.

Is it their difference

Whether a choice

Exercised

Or not.

And in this distinction

Lies their exclusion

From the benefits

Of your love.

How can this be

When you say

Love is all,

And in love

You shall find your way.

Perhaps,

Too many choose

To believe

They know love.

When all they do

Is take a position

Form a coalition

Of the like minded,

Rather than

Be mindful,

And actively

Choose to side with love.
