Do you see them?

musictimeloveidentitymortalitysolitude

Do you see them?

We all do

At one time or another,

So they say.

Not always in sequence

Or in quite the same way.

There are differences

In perception,

Value and reception.

The intimacy of emotion

Is not always jointly shared,

Even with ourselves.

And tends

To ferment separation,

An inner isolation

Which then,

Somehow lends itself

To a fear of truths

We try to hold in store,

Behind a locked and

Bolted door.

But these become

Much too painful

For us to bear,

And just as tricky

For us to share,

Without losing face,

Risking disgrace.

But what is it

You fear most,

When the truth is,

Whichever way

The story goes,

We all have demons

And we all see ghosts.
