Douse me
naturepoliticsmemorytimelovemortality
Douse me
Use accelerant
To fan the restless flame
Dancing in the embers
Of yesterday
Sprightly it flickers
Twinkling against
The ageless sky
Reflecting blood red
Onto a blue moon
It will soon be over
Douse me
Use a bucket
Soak me to the skin
Drown the beast
Before it cries
For my life blood
To quench
Its raging thirst
For more than
Just remembrance
The dream is over
It lies
In the ashes
Still warm
From the burning
Sieve it out
Rake them through
Nothing will be found
Of any worth
You were never really there
In my heart
Is where the flame
Still burns.
