I can appreciate beauty

citymemorytimelovemortalitysolitude

I can appreciate beauty

Look beyond the nearest star

Contemplate the meaning

Of disorder

Over cocktails in a bar

Argue for a peaceful outcome

To the ills that plague us all

Enjoy the moment

It has value

It is life however small

I sit and watch as lovers touch

See the hope in every smile

Remember what it means

To have a purpose

Want to walk the extra mile

Nothing comes

Without an effort

Nothing good is ever free

Keeping love is never easy

It needs work and honesty

I have journeyed

Far without you

Although you seem close

Enough to touch

It might be your reflection

In the coffee

I still drink far too much

No

It is nothing but a memory

Of life as it used to be

Unlike now

When sharing thoughts

Scratching phrases

Filling time with empty words

On crumpled pages

Is all I have to help me

Understand

That wherever I may wander

I will never hold your hand

And I miss you

Yes I do

I miss you.
